For the last series, I wanted to celebrate my local arts community by creating paintings of several of my friends wearing shoes. The series starts with Maggie’s right foot and ends with Suvali’s left. Each successive person’s step is connected to the one before it by one or two degrees of separation. The canvases (12”x12” each, a foot by a foot) are meant to appear to be marching--right, left, right, left--across the wall.

Time constraints limited the number of friends I could include in the series. To all of you, in the exhibition or not, thanks for continuing to help make Long Beach a special, vibrant, and diverse community.
